Chris Rock declined to press criminal charges against him.
However, there is the possibility that he still could.
The Academy is also launching an investigation into his behavior.
It is possible that they may revoke his membership.
They may also take his first-ever Academy Award away from him.
In a statement, they said that they have started a “formal review around the incident.”
They are pursuing further action and consequences “in accordance with our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct and California law.”
It remains to be seen if Smith could be criminally charged in this yet.
