Steven Spielberg Reveals Regret Over The Damage 'Jaws' Caused To Sharks

Steven Spielberg disclosed that he feels guilty about the negative impact “Jaws” had on sharks.

The filmmaker said that he feared that “sharks are somehow mad at me for the feeding frenzy of crazy sport fishermen” after the film debuted in 1975.

Peter Benchley, the author of the book which inspired the film, has also publicly apologized for the killing frenzy.

Benchley has since advocated for campaigns to preserve sharks from being hunted irately.
