On Monday, host Stephen Colbert returned to the “Late Show.”

On April 21, he revealed that he had been out sick with COVID-19.

He finally returned to the stage on Monday night to overwhelming applause.

He called the applause “all the medicine you need.”

He assured fans that he was “back” and “feeling fine.”

He said that “the first three days sucked” but tested negative by day six.

“Now on day 12, I’m back with a serious head cold,” he added. “Go figure.”

Ironically, the same day he returned, host Jimmy Kimmel was out with COVID-19.

Colbert joked that “I’m on the East Coast, Jimmy’s in LA, there’s no way I could have given it to him.”
