Director Rick Famuyiwa directed three episodes of “The Mandalorian.”

He recently talked about his experience with StarWars.com.

Rick revealed the very first film he saw in theaters was “Star Wars.”

Rick is one of the first Black “Star Wars” directors.

Rick said that it was “really exciting” to be able to say that.

However, he expressed chagrin that “It’s still something that’s pointed out.”

He said it shows that more work has to be done to find more representation behind the camera.

However, he thinks that “The Mandalorian” is so successful because it incorporates elements from so many different perspectives.

He said he hopes he can be part of that storytelling in the future.
