Renowned actor Ray Stevenson, best known for his roles in "Vikings," "Star Wars Rebels," "The Clone Wars," and Marvel's "Thor" films, has passed away at the age of 58.

The cause of his death is yet to be announced, as per representatives at Independent Talent.

Stevenson was also set to appear in a forthcoming Disney+ series titled "Ahsoka," scheduled for a premiere in August 2023.

Stevenson's repertoire included roles in the "Divergent" series, "RRR," and the Starz series "Black Sails" where he played Blackbeard.

The actor had recently been cast in a historical drama, "1242: Gateway to the West," replacing Kevin Spacey as the lead

In an interview at Star Wars Celebration London in April 2023, he expressed his excitement for fans to see all episodes of "Ahsoka."

Praising the "Ahsoka" creator Dave Filoni, Stevenson acknowledged the unexpected "vision and complexity" Filoni brought to the series.

He also hinted at the scale of "Ahsoka," the cliffhangers and surprises in store, as well as the commitment of the cast and crew

Stevenson also appreciated the stunt coordinators for the series, hinting at intense, character-driven fights.

His praise extended to Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for their ability to bring the best out of their actors, calling it an "empowering and wonderful and humbling" experience.
