NBA star Ja Morant was recently hit with a 25-game suspension due to his second incident of displaying a firearm on Instagram Live.

It was reported that alcohol was a significant factor in the first incident, which took place in March.

In a meeting with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Morant admitted to heavy drinking on the night of the first incident.

His explanation for the event was that his judgement had been impaired due to alcohol consumption.

After this incident, Morant was handed an eight-game suspension and vowed that he would change.

However, a second similar incident occurred in mid-May, this time with speculation that the gun displayed may not have been real.

TMZ Sports reported that Morant had filmed himself holding a toy gun to convince those close to him that the firearm in the IG Live was not real.

Despite this, fans have questioned the validity of this claim as Morant never clarified this in his apology following the incident.

In a statement after his 25-game suspension was announced, Morant apologized for his actions and expressed his commitment to work on his mental health and decision-making.

He promised to become a better role model and to be ready to return to the court once his suspension is lifted.
