Wynonna Judd is paying tribute to country music singer Loretta Lynn.

The “Coal Miner’s Daughter” singer passed away on Tuesday, October 4.

She passed away in her sleep in her Tennessee ranch at age 90.

Wynonna lost her mother, Naomi Judd, earlier this year to suicide.

On Tuesday afternoon, Wynonna shared two photos of her and Loretta laughing together.

She said that she met Loretta for the first time at the CMAs in 1984.

Wynonna said that Loretta “was the first person who came over and hugged me,”

Since that time, Wynonna said that Loretta “was like an aunt to me.”

“We mustn’t ever forget how important this woman was…IS…to country music,” she added.
