Shania Twain said that her stepfather physically and sexually abused her from a young age.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, she revealed how she took to wearing double bras to prevent him from noticing her sexuality.

Shania also hid herself whenever he was around.

"It was terrible — you didn't want to be a girl in my house," she recalled.

Her parents later died, and she was forced to fend for herself and her siblings.

The singer shared that she also suffered harassment from outsiders, which made her uncomfortable with her femininity.

She recalled fighting back at her stepfather and how it led to her having anger issues.

After years in the music industry, the singer had to undergo throat surgery for Lyme Disease.

Shania is set to release a new album,” Queen of Me,” in 2023.
