Chris Redd canceled his show at the Comedy Celler after an unidentified man in a security guard uniform hit him as he got out of his car.

Per TMZ, the former “SNL” star spent some time at the Bellevue Hospital in New York after sustaining some facial injuries from the attack.

He suffered a deep cut on his nose and bled on the stairs and street in front of the club.

The attacker also tried to drag off his chain, but it fell apart on the street, and Redd got it back.

The police who were patrolling the area rushed to the scene, but the attacker had already fled.

They took some pictures of Redd’s injuries to help with their investigation into the incident.

Redd will release a stand-up special next week which will show “pivotal parts of his life that made him into the person he is today.”

The attack comes after Redd revealed his relationship with Christina Evangeline, his “SNL” co-star, Kenan Thompson’s ex-wife.

There’s reportedly no bad blood between Redd and Thompson, as there was no cheating involved.
