Selena Gomez is a total baddie in InStyle’s February Bada** Issue!

The songstress and actress sat down with the magazine to discuss everything from social media to makeup to mental health.

Social media has been proven to have a direct effect on mental health.

According to Helpguide.org, excessive use of social media can fuel feelings of anxiety, depression, isolation, and FOMO.

She explained to InStyle, “At one point Instagram became my whole world, and it was really dangerous.”

SelGo explained that as she got older and evolved, she realized social media, namely Instagram, isn’t EVERYTHING.

“Taking a break from social media was the best decision that I've ever made for my mental health. I created a system where I still don't have my passwords,” she said.

In the new year and years to come, Selena has a mission to change the stigma surrounding mental health.

She hopes to implement a curriculum or system of resources that are easily available in schools.
