Scarlett Johansson

Agent SLAMS Disney Over ‘Black Widow’ Legal War

The actress & Disney are in an all-out WAR, and now her agent is jumping in the middle.

The media giant & Johansson are going head to head after she filed a lawsuit accusing Disney of breaching her contract by releasing 'Black Widow' on Disney+ and not exclusively in the theaters.

The Disney+ deal allegedly cost her millions in percentage from the box office sales, but Disney issued a statement accusing Scarlett of having “callous disregard” for the pandemic.

“Disney has fully complied with Ms. Johansson’s contract," they said, "[Disney+] has significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20M she has received to date.”

Now, Scarlett’s agent, Bryan Lourd, joined the fight and issued a NASTY statement accusing the company of “weaponizing her success as a businesswoman.”

“The company included her salary in their press statement in an attempt to weaponize her success as an artist and businesswoman as if that were something she should be ashamed of."

The legal war will set precedence for entertainment companies using streaming platforms to earn additional income on films and tv shows.
