Samuel L. Jackson hasn’t been on SNL since his 2012 appearance, where he used the f-word.

Jackson thought he was banned from the show until he recently spoke with Lorne Michaels.

He asked Michaels if they’d ever let him back on SNL, and the producer said he always had an invite.

He is skeptical about the invite and said he isn’t sure whether he is truly allowed back on the show.

Other celebrities, including Kristen Stewart and Sam Rockwell, have sworn during their SNL appearances.

Season 47 of SNL has wrapped up, so fans won’t see Jackson till season 48 premieres this fall.

Jackson first hosted SNL in 1998, and his musical guest was the rock band Ben Folds Five.

Tracy Jordan has impersonated him twice on the show, and Jay Pharoah has done it once.

Selena Gomez recently hosted SNL for the first time, and her musical guest was Post Malone.
