A Russian war dog has a new home in the arms of the enemy.

I’m sure the dog doesn’t see Ukrainian soldiers as an enemy anymore.

The former Russian special forces dog has made alliances with Ukraine.

The dog, named Max, is a Belgian Malinois and was working with Vladimir Putin’s troops before being senselessly abandoned.

According to the Daily Star, Max was found starving and close to death in an area of Ukraine which has seen mass devastation.

The Malinois was found by a local Ukrainian family and nursed back to health.

He was given to Ukrainian troops to assist in sniffing out unexploded mines.

He was taught Ukrainian commands.

“Max is in excellent physical shape. He knows all the basic commands,” a Ukrainian National Guard fighter said.
