R. Kelly's legal team has proposed the exclusion of possible jurors who have seen "Surviving R. Kelly" from sitting in on his Chicago trial.

"Any potential juror who has watched any portion of this docuseries must be disqualified for cause," court documents (Via Radar) read.

The disgraced singer's Chicago trial is expected to start later this month.

Kelly will be tried on four child pornography counts, among other charges.

"Surviving R. Kelly is a Lifetime documentary exploring the claims of sexual assault made against the disgraced musician.

The show premiered on January 3 2019.

Kelly was convicted and sentenced to 30 years in prison in connection with his sexual allegation crimes in a court in New York.

Kelly's legal team plans to argue that the singer has "intellectual disabilities" via an expert.

The prosecution stated that the expert's testimony was not relevant to the case.
