Even more fans are trying to distance themselves from J.K. Rowling.

Rowling has put out several tweets that have been deemed transphobic in recent months.

Now, two Quidditch teams feel they are forced to rebrand amidst the controversy.

US Quidditch and the Major Quidditch League announced a rebranding earlier this week.

They stated that they wanted to distance themselves from Rowling’s “anti-trans positions.”

Both leagues said that they pride themselves on gender equality and inclusivity.

It is unclear what the new name of Quidditch will be.

The organizations will send out “a series of surveys” in coming months to allow players a chance to vote.

Rowling has yet to comment on the organization’s name change.
