“Nothing Compares 2 U: An Oral History of Prince” is set to give people major insights into the life and legacy of the late great Prince.

Many of the stories within the new book will potentially help shed light on the roots of his physical pain.

The book, set to be released in August, features Prince’s long-time tour manager, Alan Leeds, recalling that Prince suffered a major accident during the Purple Rain Tour.

The incident is said to have occurred around Christmas in 1984 when his show included a gimmick where Prince would lay in a bathtub raised around 10 feet in the air.

The bathtub came crashing down to the floor with Prince inside during a rehearsal.

"It fell 10 or 12 feet with him in it. I never moved so fast in my life,” Leeds recalled.

Leeds also described a knee injury that the Purple One suffered that same tour. He hints that the singer's painkiller use stemmed from those injuries.
