Olivia Rodrigo is opening up about the copyright rumors that have followed her since releasing her single, “Good 4 U.”

Many fans drew comparisons between Olivia’s song and Paramore’s 2007 hit, “Misery Business.”

People went off on social media accusing Olivia of plagiarizing Paramore.

In May, it was announced Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Joshua Farro received songwriting credits on “Good 4 U”

Olivia recently opened up to Teen Vogue about the copyright claims and how she’s navigating the industry.

She told the outlet, “I’m no different from any other 18-year-old out there. I’m definitely going to make a lot of mistakes in my life and in my career probably too. That’s just life.”

Olivia also said the topic of copyright is ‘tricky.’

“It’s tricky. Writing songs about how I feel has always been easy and fun for me, and I think the business side of music has been something I’ve had a harder time learning. I’ve been sort of growing through that this year.”

Despite the negativity that has made its way to Olivia, she knows at the end of the day her lyrics come from her heart and her life first.
