Episode 3 of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” started to get a little dark.

Darth Vader tried to intimidate Obi-Wan by snapping the necks of helpless citizens.

When he finally caught up to Kenobi, he dragged him around through flames until he was badly burned.

He wanted Kenobi to burn the way Kenobi left him to burn after their last battle on Mustafar.

It may be dark, but writer Joby Harold Vanity Fair said it was their intention to be “terrifying.”

He revealed that some of Vader’s torture scenes actually got “pulled back.”

Harold confessed, “It was a lot more extreme, at one point.”

“It's awful, but he should be awful,” he added. “He's Darth Vader.”

New episodes of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” hit Disney+ each Wednesday.
