Nicole Scherzinger is loving showing off her range.

She has a new solo album on the way after singing with the Pussycat Dolls.

She really told PEOPLE that she’s ready to start a “new chapter of my life.”

She said she’s all “about getting back to my love for singing and music.”

Part of that is reflecting on her musical influences growing up.

Nicole said she said she “studied” Cher and Olivia Newton-John’s variety shows growing up.

She was also inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Bette Midler, and Shirley Bassey.

“I want to do my own take of a modern-day Cher, Bette Midler, Shirley Bassey,” she said.

“They were captivating,” she added. “And that's what I aspire to do in my own performances.”
