NBA star Ja Morant has received a 25-game suspension following his second Instagram Live gun incident.

The National Basketball Player’s Association (NBPA) has expressed their disagreement with the suspension's length.

Tamika Tremaglio, NBPA Executive Director, stated that while Morant has accepted responsibility, they believe the punishment is excessive and inconsistent.

After Morant's first incident, he received an eight-game suspension and no statement was issued by the NBPA regarding punishment.

The NBPA is expected to file an appeal to either reduce the suspension length or provide clearer conditions for Morant's return.

CBS Sports reports Morant has 30 days to challenge the suspension by filing a grievance with the league office.

If he does, an arbitrator will decide whether the suspension should be reduced or remain as is.

Morant issued an apology, expressing remorse for his actions and promising to work on his mental health and decision-making.

Despite the controversy, Nike, with whom Morant has a shoe deal, has decided to continue supporting him.

Nike has commended Morant's accountability and prioritization of his well-being.
