Billy Joel has made it clear that he will not grant any rights to his music or likeness for “Piano Man.”

A rep for the iconic pianist confirmed that he has no involvement in the biopic.

The producers have gone another direction and acquired the life rights of Irwin Mazur.

Mazur was Joel’s music representative from 1970 to 1972 before breaking out as the Piano Man.

Joel’s refusal to support the film will limit the biopic from telling his true life story.

“Piano Man” will follow the story of Joel’s early years, from his time with Mazur to when he became a star.

Adam Ripp doubles as the film’s screenplay writer and director and is excited to make the film.

His father, Artie Ripp, was the first to sign Joel and produced his first album.

“Piano Man” is the latest in a long line of musician biopics
