The candle factory in Mayfield, Kentucky, is again making headlines.

Nine workers perished after the building collapsed following a tornado strike.

Workers are now suing the company for allegedly not allowing them to leave.

The Mayfield Consumer Products company has decided to permanently close the building.

As a result, they are permanently laying off half of its work force.

MCP was said to employ 501 workers at the time of the tornado collapse.

They are moving only about 250 workers to a new location down the road.

The move sparked backlash online.

As one user tweeted, “The workers deserved better.”
