On Tuesday afternoon, Matthew McConaughey spoke at a White House press briefing.

The Oscar winning actor actually from Uvalde, Texas, where 19 children and 2 adults were killed.

Since then, the “Interstellar” has been campaigning for meaningful gun reform.

During his speech, he held up a pair of green Converse sneakers worn by one of the victims.

“These are the same green Converse on her feet that turned out to be the only clear evidence that could identify her after the shooting,” he said.

Fred Guttenberg took to Twitter to praise McConaughey’s thoughtful speech.

Guttenberg is the father of Jaime, who was killed in the Parkland school shooting.

“Thank you @McConaughey,” he tweeted. “You just framed this perfectly.”

He quoted, “Responsible gun owners are fed up with the Second Amendment being abused and hijacked.”
