McConaughey revealed his interest in returning for the third Magic Mike film during an interview with Variety.
McConaughey starred as a strip club owner named Dallas in the first film, but he didn’t appear in the sequel.
The first Magic Mike inspired the sequel, titled Magic Mike XXL, a stage musical and several performances.
Tatum announced the third film, titled Magic Mike’s Last Dance, on his Twitter and indicated that it would premiere on HBO Max.
In a recent interview, Tatum said the third film would forever change the stripperverse.
He said he wants Magic Mike’s Last Dance to be the super bowl of stripping with professional dancers.
Tatum also thinks that it is crucial the film has a central female lead character because the movie is very female-forward.
