Mark Wahlberg talks about his new film, “Father Stu,” on the Australian radio show “Kyle & Jackie O.”

He told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson that he “put on 30 pounds after for another film that was really difficult.”

Wahlberg admitted that he’s “not getting any younger.”

But according to him, “it's easier to stay fit. It's easier to stay in shape than it is to get in shape.”

The actor also revealed on “The Today Show” that he had to “consume, for two weeks, 7,000 calories, and then for another two weeks, 11,000 calories.”

He added: “It's such a hard, physical thing to do. Losing weight, you just kind of tough it out, you just don't eat, and exercise.”

Wahlberg continued: “I would wake up after a meal and have another meal.”

In preparing for the role, he said he “was eating every three hours.”

To him, gaining all those weight “was not fun.”
