Lindsey Buckingham took to Instagram to mourn the death of his Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie.

“Christine was a musical comrade, a friend, a soul mate, a sister…. I feel very lucky to have known her,” the singer wrote in a heartfelt post.

He added, “Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on through that body of work and that legacy.”

Another band member Stevie Nicks also echoed similar sentiments in a separate post shared on Instagram.

She wrote, “See you on the other side, my love. Don’t forget me — Always, Stevie.”

Fans also shared heartfelt condolence messages expressing their love for McVie.

One fan wrote, “What a wonderful gift she gave us all. Her beautiful music lives on forever.”

McVie died on Wednesday at the age of 79 after being ill for a short while.

She joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970 and helped pen several of the band’s greatest hits during her time.
