Max Scherzer

The Los Angeles Dodgers Pitcher Stands Up Against Long-Standing Butt-Slapping Ritual In Baseball.

Pitcher Max Scherzer does not like to be touched, especially if it is a friendly pat on the behind from a coach.

Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, learned that lesson the hard way! Scherzer is relatively new to the squad, and Roberts wasn't informed of his 'DO NOT TOUCH' policy.

Roberts ended each inning of Scherzer’s Dodgers’ debut by patting him on the behind. In the 4th inning, Scherzer literally told his coach, “Don’t f*ing touch me.”

The situation came to light because Roberts relayed the story to the 'Sunday Night Baseball' crew. Apparently, he was the only one that didn't get the memo.

They forgot to tell him until after the awkward situation went down.

“Then I got the scoop from our players, like, ‘Hey Doc, make sure you don’t touch him, he doesn’t want anybody touching him.”

The story was told in jest; however, Max was serious about the butt-slapping tradition. He told Roberts that his reaction was the "most respectful way" he could say it despite using an expletive.
