King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles had an eventful visit to York, England.

On Wednesday, November 9th, Charles and Camilla made a public visit to the northern English town for the unveiling of a new statue of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen passed away peacefully at her beloved Balmoral Castle in Scotland on September 8th.

While the start to their visit in York went smoothly, the couple was quickly blocked by security guards after a person in the crowd pelted eggs at them.

The person throwing the animal byproducts was identified as Extinction Rebellion activist Patrick Thelwell.

He was heard shouting, “This country was built on the blood of slaves,” per a Metro UK report.

Thelwell was detained by police and escorted away from Micklegate Bar.

The crowd booed him and chanted, “God Save The King.”

Luckily, neither Charles nor Camilla were hit by the four eggs launched their way.
