The missing teen’s body was discovered in a car at the bottom of a California lake.
On Sunday, August 21st, law enforcement officials discovered a body in a silver car submerged in Prosser Lake.
On Monday, August 22, a press conference with law enforcement officials was held, and they informed the public that the body found was “more than likely” Rodni.
At the time of the press conference, law enforcement officials did not name the teenager by name.
Sadly, just one day later, the remains found in the silver vehicle have been confirmed to be those of Rodni.
The official Twitter account for the Placer Sheriff’s department issued a tweet on August 23rd.
The tweet read, “Today, an autopsy was conducted on the deceased individual who was found in the Prosser Reservoir on Sunday, August 21st.”
It continued, “The Nevada County Sheriff-Coroner has identified the decedent as 16-year-old Kiely Rodni, of Truckee.”
