Seven inmates at Graves County Jail were working at the Kentucky Candle Factory when it collapsed.

Several of those workers were transported to a nearby hospital.

One worker, Francisco Starks, 44, walked out the front door after he was discharged.

He was serving time for burglary, theft of taking an automobile, and receiving stolen property.

The inmate has since turned himself into a nearby jail.

One survivor at the candle factory applauded people from the jail who had come over to help.

“Those prisoners were working their tails off to get us out,” she explained.

She added that none of them tried to escape during rescue efforts.

No other survivors have been rescued from the rubble since early Saturday.
