Keke Palmer stars as an enslaved woman in the upcoming film “Alice.”

She explained that the movie was different from the other slavery movies because it gives hope.

She intended her Alice character to be a form of inspiration to her generation.

She started a program called “Saving Our Cinderellas” to inspire young girls.

Her role as Cinderella in the 2014 Broadway show inspired the program.

Palmer’s sense of humor helped her deal with depression, anxiety, and self-care.

Palmer recalled being a victim of micro-aggression in public places as a child.

The bullying was strange because she never felt bad about being black at home.

She encouraged girls to find their own form of self-care, accept themselves and lean on others.
