“I’ve got to tell you guys something. I have cancer,” Kathy wrote. “I’m about to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed. Yes, I have lung cancer even though I’ve never smoked!”

She said that the doctors are "very optimistic as it is stage one," and she won't require chemo or radiation if everything goes to plan. She estimated to be "running around as usual" in a month.

The comedienne revealed her diagnosis and surgery via Twitter moments before she went under the knife on Monday, August 2.
