On Tuesday, Johnny Depp took the stand against Amber Heard.

Depp is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over a December 2018 op-ed Heard wrote.

Depp denied being abusive to Heard, and he was “doing the right thing” by filing the lawsuit.

He said “my goal is the truth” and denounced Heard’s “lies built upon lies.”

He said on the stand that although they had arguments, he never struck Heard.

He added, “nor have I struck anyone in my life.”

Depp said that “it was a complete shock” to hear Heard’s allegations against him.

He said he wanted to clear his name not only for himself, but for his children.

“I wanted to clear my children of this horrid thing they had to read about their father, that was untrue,” Depp said.
