“892” just premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.

It stars John Boyega has Lance Corporal Brian Brown-Easley.

The film is based on the Marine veteran’s true story.

Easley was only 33 and struggling to survive on VA disability checks.

After his disability payments stopped, he faced homelessness.

He tried to get help from the Veterans Crisis Line but was turned away.

A regional VA benefits office also turned him away.

Easley eventually resorted to desperate measures to get help.

The film was inspired by an Aaron Gell article titled “They Didn’t Have To Kill Him.”
