On Tuesday, Madeleine Albright passed away.

She was the first female Secretary of State.

She served under then-President Bill Clinton.

The refugee from Prague was 83 years old when she passed away.

Her family said that she died of cancer, surrounded by friends and loved ones.

President Joe Biden took a moment to pay his respects to the late diplomat.

He called her “a force for goodness, grace, and decency – and for freedom.”

“Hers were the hands that turned the tide of history,” he continued.

He and his wife, Jill, sent both love and prayers to her family.
