A new gun safety pledge is circling throughout Hollywood.

THR says over 200 Hollywood directors and writers have signed the pledge.

This includes Amy Schumer, Shonda Rhimes, Jimmy Kimmel, Mark Ruffalo, and many more.

The goal of the pledge is not to stop showing guns on-screen.

Instead, it asks creators to be more cognizant of the ways that guns are portrayed.

“We didn’t cause the problem, but we want to help fix it,” the letter states.

They are asking creators to “be mindful of on-screen gun violence and model gun safety best practices.”

They add, “Let’s use our collective power for good.”

“These are small things that we can do as a community to try and end this national nightmare,” they add.
