Former "Jeopardy!" director, Clay Jacobsen, is suing the game show for over $3 million, alleging age discrimination.

Jacobsen, who worked for the show from 2006 to 2022, claims he was "terminated without cause".

He alleges that younger employees replaced him, pointing to age discrimination.

Jacobsen argues that he was incorrectly categorized as an independent contractor rather than an employee.

He refutes claims of complaints against him made by several employees as being false and career-motivated.

Jacobsen maintains that he performed satisfactorily in his position at the time of his termination.

In his contract for the 2021-2022 season, Jacobsen claims he is owed $187,998.14.

In addition, he requests more than $3 million in general and special damages.

"Jeopardy!" has faced previous scandals, including the controversial appointment and subsequent resignation of host Mike Richards.

Current host Ken Jennings released a new book and shared his experiences of hosting "Jeopardy!", acknowledging the challenges of the role.
