James Earl Jones, 91, is a beloved voice actor.

He has been voicing the role of Darth Vader since 1977.

However, it looks like he is on the verge of retirement.

He signed over the rights to the Darth Vader voice to Lucasfilm.

The news was reported by Vanity Fair.

A Ukrainian company called Respeecher will keep the character alive.

They use an A.I. program and pre-recorded audio to generate new content.

Lucasfilm has already used Respeecher to replicate voices in “The Book of Boba Fett” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi.”

Fans are sad to see Jones go, but glad to see Darth Vader will be preserved for decades to come.
