James Cameron said he might end the “Avatar” franchise if sequels are unsuccessful.

He said fans’ opinions on the franchise might have changed.

“Avatar” was originally released in 2009.

Cameron said that because of the pandemic, studios moved to stream releases.

He said “Avatar: The Way of Water” is three hours long.

Cameron said the “Avatar” films were all-consuming.

He said he might not direct the sequels.

Cameron announced the fourth and fifth instalments of “Avatar” in 2010.

“Avatar: The Way of Water” will be released on December 16.
