Director Rian Johnson directed “The Last Jedi.”

The middle film in the sequel trilogy proved to be extremely divisive.

In 2017, Disney announced that Johnson was getting his own trilogy.

However, there has been absolutely no news about it since.

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy recently sat down with Vanity Fair.

She pointed to Johnson being “unbelievably busy” with his new Netflix deal.

In 2021, Netflix shelled out $450 million for two “Knives Out” sequels.

If anything, Kennedy seemed to hint that the trilogy may never come to be.

She said they’re coming to favor “much more persistent storytelling.”
