Hilary Duff Says The Concept Of The Lizzy McGuire Reboot ‘Spooked’ Disney Into Canceling It

One role fans will forever remember Hilary Duff for is Lizzie McGuire on the Disney show of the same name.

The iconic show was going to get a reboot, but it got canceled, and Duff is sharing her thoughts on it.

Fans were very excited when the reboot was announced until the cancellation announcement in 2020.

Duff suggested that Disney was wary about the reboot having mature scenes and themes.

She said she and creator Terrie Minsky wanted to portray an older McGuire realistically.

In January, Duff shared some details of how the reboot would have been, such as McGuire moving home.

She suggested that Disney was worried about how the mature content would affect their perception.
