Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane passed away on Friday.

He was 72 years old.

His agent said that he had been in poor health the past few years.

He passed away at a hospital near his home in Scotland.

Coltrane was best known for playing Hagrid in the “Harry Potter” film series.

Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton praised his humor and ability to make them laugh on set.

Bonnie Wright said Robbie portrayed “Hagrid’s warmth, sense of home & unconditional love for his students and magical creatures so brilliantly.”

Author J.K. Rowling called him “an incredible talent, a complete one off, and I was beyond fortunate to know him.”

Emma Watson wrote a lengthy message on her Instagram Stories, saying, “There was no better Hagrid. You made it a joy to be Hermione.”
