On Tuesday, Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The former socialite was accused of bringing underage girls to Jeffrey Epstein to be abused.

In December 2021, she was convicted of sex trafficking and two conspiracy charges.

She was also convicted of transporting a minor to participate in illegal sex acts.

Prosecutors said that she allowed girls as young as 14-years-old to be abused by Epstein.

Prosecutors alleged they “were partners in crime together and they molested these kids together.”

Federal prosecutors had sought a 30 to 55 year prison sentence.

Her defense team argued only a five year prison sentence and painted Epstein as the mastermind.

Epstein is believed to have taken his own life in prison in 2019.
