Harrison Ford is best known for his role as Han Solo in "Star Wars."

However, that role almost never came to be!

Ford had previously starred in George Lucas’s "American Graffiti."

Lucas reportedly didn't want any actors from his previous films to appear in "Star Wars."

Although he didn't let Ford audition, he did ask him to help read lines with potential actors.

However, Ford was a clear stand-out even while he wasn't auditioning.

Lucas eventually cast him after seeing his chemistry with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.

However, Ford didn't make much for his appearance in "A New Hope."

He only made $10,000 dollars for "A New Hope," but made millions for appearing in the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy.
