The crime series “Snowfall” has been renewed for season 6 after premiering its first episode in July 2017.

The show is based on the crack epidemic during the 1980s in Los Angeles.

The president of original programming at FX, Nick Grad, noted that “Snowfall” was an FX classic series.

He thanked the “Snowfall” and FX production team for helping with the success of the series.

Damson Idris will miss his time as Franklin Saint, a main character in the show.

Idris also congratulated the team for the history they had created with “Snowfall” and the impact of the series “on the culture.”

An executive producer of the show, John Singleton, passed away in April 2019, shortly before the release of season 3.

He died at 51 from a stroke, and several cast members missed his presence on the set.

Carter Hudson noted that the team should grieve less and focus on shooting to make Singleton proud.
