On the video sharing platform, people are cooking chicken with the cough medication, NyQuil.
They’ll boil the chicken in a NyQuil broth and inhale the steam.
In light of the dangerous trend, the FDA issued a strong warning.
The federal agency warned that boiling cough medication can change its properties.
It also stated that inhaling the vapor can badly hurt the lungs.
“Someone could take a dangerously high amount of the cough and cold medicine without even realizing it.”
The FDA urged parents to keep OTC cough and cold medications locked away from children.
