Johnny Depp has faced the dreaded “cancel culture” and feels that it can strike anyone, anytime.

After an acrimonious divorce with Amber Heard, Depp lost a libel case against tabloid “The Sun” who had labeled him a “wife-beater.”

Post that, Hollywood dropped Depp from all prestigious projects, including the “The Pirates of the Caribbean” and the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise.

Europe has no such notions and has been welcoming Depp at events and bestowing him will all sorts of awards.

Depp has finally landed a new project, although the title of the movie and the plot are being kept under wraps.

He will be playing French King Louis XV in the next film directed by French actor-turned-director, Maiwenn.

Known for making thought-provoking cinema, Maiwenn has won awards for movies like “Mon Roi” and “Polisse.”

She will also be playing Countess Jeanne du Barry, who was Louis XV’s last mistress.

Meanwhile Depp is continuing to battle Amber Heard in court, and she will next be seen as Mera in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”
