Drew Barrymore spent Halloween with ex-husband Will Kopelman and his new wife Alexandra Michler.

Barrymore went trick-or-treating with the couple who got married on August 28.

Barrymore described Michler as a "wonderful stepmother" and called their positive family dynamic "the dream."

The mother-of-two advised families to take the "high road," leading with love and good intentions.

The actress said she won the lottery with Michler, the "new beautiful soul" in their lives.

Barrymore set healthy boundaries with the couple. They enjoy family birthday dinners and occasional trips together.

The 46-year-old praised Michler for having a miraculous connection with her daughters that's "very real.”
