Yesterday, Mark Zuckerberg changed the name of Facebook to Meta.
He also introduced fans to the Metaverse.
The Metaverse is a 3D virtual reality where people can interact through avatars.
Meta announced plans to spend over $10 billion dollars developing the technology.
However, many fans don’t feel it’s worth it.
One sociology professor even thought it was satire and called it “so ridiculously fake.”
Another fan said “this is so wrong” while another called it “laughable.”
Other fans told Zuckerberg that they would not use this new technology.
They encouraged Zuckerberg to “be better than this.”
