Dave Chappelle has his own televised show and several Netflix specials.

Chappelle purchased a large chunk of land from Ohio to stop the $39 million development plan.

He reportedly purchased it to put some distance between future construction and his property.

Chappelle said he was against the development project and called the council members clowns.

He threatened to withdraw his business from the town if the project moved forward.

Chappelle didn’t state his reason for opposing the project.

Max Crome said the project wasn’t meant to cater to the villagers.

Chappelle wanted to set up an eatery, a comedy club and a lounge for the villagers.

He bought the space for the properties for $1.1 million in 2020.
